Our Smoke and Fire Curtain service has expanded rapidly over the last few years as a result of fire prevention legislation issued in 2005. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) sets out the law[1] on general fire safety and requires that a ‘responsible person’ must carry out, and keep up to date, a risk assessment and implement appropriate measures to minimise the risk to life and property from fire.

In situations where a fire risk assessment identifies the containment of smoke or fire being essential to protect escape routes for the occupants, Custom Group Ltd can offer an innovative yet cost effective solutions for the small to medium size establishment.

Connected to the buildings fire alarm system or an independent fire/smoke detector, our range of active barriers will lower to a pre-determined height ranging from head height (to allow occupants to escape whilst minimising horizontal travel of smoke/fire) to floor level (preventing virtually all movement of smoke/fire). Our side channelled fire curtains are tested to contain a 1000c fire for periods up to 4 hours.
